Deborie Hammond

Deborie E. Hammond was born August 14, 1958 the daughter of the late Samuel and Delphine Kenner Hammond.

She was a native of New York. She was baptized at an early age at Community Baptist Church in Queens NY. She entered into eternal rest on August 22, 2026 after a prolong battle with an illness surrounded by her immediate family.

Deborie was a 1977 graduate of Flushing High School in Queens, NY. Following graduation, She attended MATS Nursing Program. After completion of Her Nursing Program, she worked as a Nursing tech and a Certified Nursing Assistant for 46 years.

One of her life’s passion was to take care of the sick.

In 1998, she felt her call to come home, she relocated from New York to here (Ridge Spring) to be closer to her mother(Mommie).

Deborie moved her membership/joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Johnston but was unable to attend regularly due to her hours at work. She was employed at the VA Hospital for 12 years and also worked at Azaelea Woods Nursing Home for 18 years.

She leaves to love honor and cherish her life and mourn her passing, her two sons Russell Battle, and Lywill, Rondell Brown(Ashley Pixley), and Freddie Brown and a god brother, Addaym Lincoln Hammond and a host of other relatives and friends.
