Johnston, SC- Funeral Services for Mr. Horace “Big Shot” West will be held 2:00pm Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Rosa Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Winston Oliphant, Pastor and the Rev. Melvin Searles, Officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be 11:00am-6PM Friday March 8, 2024 at the Amos & Sons Funeral Home.

Horace (Big Shot) West was born to the late Earl West, Sr., amd Willie Mae West on March 3, 1952, in Edgefield County, South Carolina. He passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, SC.

Horace was a Professional Truck Driver all his life until his health declined and then he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn West, Earl West, Sr., and Willie Mae West, Bryan West, Myrtis Benson, and Jo Ann Wilhite West.

Horace leaves to honor his memories, 5 daughters, April and Shell West, Detroit Michigan, Libby Abney, Aiken, SC, Kiesha (Chad) Gilchrist, Johnston, SC, Candice (Ronnie) Bussey, Johnston, SC. 5 sons, Tony (Helen) Merriweather, Spartanburg, SC, Travis (Renada) Key, Robert (Tine) West, Obryon (Aranica) Bussey, all of Johnston, SC, 34 grandchildren, 38 great- grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, siblings, seven sisters, Alafar West Callaham, Earllie Mae Smith, Ora (Dennis), Brown, Henrietta (Cleveland) Andeson, Virginia West, Zetha West, Jackie (Lamont) Thurmond, 4 brothers, Earl (Mattie) West, Jr., Ollie (Jessica) West, Bobby (Angela) West, Bernard (Patricia) West, 1 daughter-in-law, Davina West, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
