Edgefield, SC - Funeral Services for Mr. John Rhynes will be held 3:00pm Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Springfield Baptist Church, 2411 US Highway 25 N, Edgefield, SC, 29824. The Rev. C. Moses Myers is the Pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be 11:00am - 5:00pm Friday.

John was born to the late Joseph Rhynes and Claudine P. Rhynes in Edgefield, SC.

He joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he served as a Trustee.

He attended Strom Thurmond High and was employed at Shaw Industries Aiken Plant 78 for over 25 years. He was an avid San Franciso 49ers fan. He enjoyed fishing, listening to old school music, grilling and spending time with his family and friends.

He was married on July 22, 1995, to Denice Moore Rhynes. To this union three sons were born: Terrell J. Rhynes, Montrell J. Rhynes, and John B. Rhynes, Jr.

He is also survived by six siblings Joseph (Dorothy) Rhynes, Wanda (Ronald) Mason, LaShora Boyd, Claudine (Leonard) Gray, Lula (Aurthur) Gaulden, and a special sister, his donor, Pamela (Leroy) Anderson. Brother-in-laws Willie Moore, Jr., Henry Moore, Ronnie Moore, Dennis (Tiffany) Moore, Fredrick Moore, Joseph (Machelle) Moore, Ronnie Bulter, Ricky Bulter, and Micheal Bulter. Sisters-in-law Daisy Brunson, Lizzie Turner, Mary (James) Jones, and Esther Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
