Kenneth Bernard Smith

Mar 16, 1962 — Sep 22, 2026

Kenneth B. Smith was born on March 16, 1962, in Lexington County, South Carolina. He peacefully departed this life on September 22, 2026, at his home in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina.

Kenneth was a member of Philippi Missionary Church in Prosperity, South Carolina, where he was connected to a community of faith.

He received his early education in the public schools of Lexington County, graduating from Batesburg-Leesville High School, Class of 1980 and continued his education at Denmark Technical College in Denmark, South Carolina. Kenneth was a hardworking and talented man who became self-employed in paint and body work. His love for cars was more than just a profession; it was something he truly enjoyed. He took pride in working with his hands, restoring vehicles, and putting his skills to good use. One of Kenneth’s greatest joys was cooking for his family. He loved bringing everyone together around good food, laughter, and conversation. For Kenneth, cooking was a way of showing love and creating memories with the people who meant the most to him. Whether he was working on a car or preparing a meal for family, he enjoyed doing things that brought happiness to others.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving mother, Pearlie Elaine Smith Rabb; his son, Jawann Green; and his aunt, Sara Mae Wise.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his father, Walter (Betty) Glenn of Saluda, South Carolina; his stepfather, Gunnie Rabb of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two daughters, Le’Pierrh Caldwell and Sara (Cornelius) Green, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; and three beloved grandchildren, Kingston, Princeton, and Karson. Kenneth also leaves to cherish his memory five loving aunts: Ruby James of Florida, Luella Gantt of New York, Mary Frances Williams, Celeste (Jimmy) Merritt and Julia (Robert) Merritt, all of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; along with a host of relatives and friends.

Kenneth’s earthly journey may have come to an end, but the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His love for family, his passion for cars, and his gift for cooking, and the many moments shared together will forever be a part of his legacy. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, he was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Forever loved. Forever remembered.
