Lilly Ivey-Bussey

Lilly Bell Ivy was born on July 21, 1970, in York, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Maybell Jones and the late Henry Ivy. "Lilly Bell" entered eternal rest on August 31, 2026, at Wellstar Medical Hospital in Augusta, GA.

Lilly was a proud graduate of Strom Thurmond High School Rebels, Class of 1989. Lilly later made North Augusta, South Carolina, her home, where she built a life centered around faith, family, service, and love. Throughout her life, she carried a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to love deeply and give freely. She had a loving and caring heart and was always looking for a way to help others. She dedicated more than 10 years of service to FedEx Ground and later continued her passion for working with children as a substitute teacher in Aiken and Edgefield County.

Lilly was a God-fearing woman whose faith was an important part of who she was. She worshipped with Pine Hill Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church.

Lilly was a devoted wife and family woman. She shared 20 beautiful years with her husband, Brien Bussey, whom she loved dearly. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kendre’L (Tocarra) Pixley and Ala’Zia Gomillion; her bonus children, Brien Williams Jr., Choyce (Yosleen) Bussey, and Ja’Kobe Bussey; and her grandchildren, Kno’La Pixley, KeiAri Pixley, Brilliant Williams, Nicholes Ruffin, and Cymba Bussey.

She leaves also to mourn her departure her mother, Maybell Jones; her sisters, Dorothy Dozier, Tasha Carter, Phyllis Jones (Kenny), and Annie Jefferson; her brother, Jimmie Jones; and was preceded in death by her sisters, Suzie A. Goodwin and Bridget Jones.

Lilly left to love a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.If you knew Lilly, you knew one thing for certain: she loved them Florida State Seminoles on Saturdays. She was a proud fan and never missed an opportunity to show her Seminole spirit in Garnet & Gold.

But above all else, Lilly loved her family. She loved her children fiercely, but her grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart. She loved them and treasured every moment she was blessed to share with them.

Lilly leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, service, laughter, and compassion. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she gave so freely will continue to live through her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and every life she touched.

She may no longer be with us in the flesh, but the love she planted in so many hearts will never die.

Rest peacefully, Lilly. Your work here is done. Until we meet again.
