It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life lived, that we announce the passing of our beloved Aunt, Sister and Church member, Lucille Richardson.

Lucille was a woman of unwavering faith; She walked through life anchored by her deep trust in God. She severed as a light and a gentle witness to all that knew her. She was selfless, kind, compassionate, and warm-hearted. Her love for her family and church family wasn’t just spoken; She showed it.

Lucille Richardson was born February 27, 1959, in Saluda County, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Scott Richardson, Sr. and Mrs. Bertha Richardson. She was the 2nd eldest daughter.

Lucille received her diploma in 1978 from Strom Thurmond High School. She went on to obtain an Associate’s Degree at Piedmont Technical College majoring in Human Services. She then furthered her education at Limestone College and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. For many years she dedicated her time and her heart to substitute teaching. She had a genuine passion for educating and helping students.

She was always hands on in church. As a member of Church on the Rock, she served as President of the Junior Missionary, President of Holiness Young People Union, Secretary of the Young People Institute Department, and Assistant secretary of Sunday school. Her patience, warm smile, and encouraging words left an everlasting mark on the heart of family and community.

In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by her eldest brother Scott Richardson, Jr. and youngest brother Roger Richardson.

Those left behind to cherish her memories include: Two sisters; Louise (Wille)Williams, Brenda (Mack) Pressley, III. Four brothers; Bobby Richardson, Johnny (Patricia- Late) Richardson, Jerry Richardson and Horace (Marjorie-Late) Richardson; and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and sorrowing friends.
