Lucinda Gordon, affectionately known as “Lou,” entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love, warmth, and strength touched the lives of all who knew her.Born on May 24, 1941, in Johnston, South Carolina, Lucinda was the beloved daughter of Amos and Mary Butler of Johnston, SC. She was raised in Johnston, where she developed her strong values, love for family, and caring spirit.She attended Ridge Hill School in Ridge Spring, South Carolina. At the young age of 18, Lucinda moved to Queens, New York, where she began building her life and future. She later united in marriage with her beloved husband, Ivory Lee Gordon, who preceded her in death. Lucinda found her faith at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Queens, New York, where she grew spiritually and remained rooted in her belief and love for God.She was best known for her loving and welcoming spirit. Her greatest joy was hosting and cooking for family and guests, sharing her special recipes, and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and togetherness. Her presence brought comfort, and her generosity made everyone feel like family.Lucinda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
