Moses Johnson

Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7:58 p.m. Moses Johnson passed peaceful from this life into God’s Glory. He was born to the late Bennie Lee Johnson and Lanie Mae Nicholson Johnson on May 5, 1963. He was educated in the Edgefield County School System. He graduated in 1983 from the Strom Thurmond High School. He fell in love with and married the apple of his eye, Teresa McManus on  jULY 8, 2000. They enjoyed almost 40 years of beautiful married togetherness and love. He was employed by the Smith Carolina Department of Education, “Johnston Bus Shop”, for 28 years and retired in 2024, due to health issues. Even with the changes in his life, he still kept the family’s automobiles running along with friends and strangers. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. Moses was a dedicated family man. He was present in the lives of his children and grands. He made it his business to attend their school functions such as football, basketball and cheering. They could count on his presence even at their practices. On July 28, 2019, his grandchild named Wyatt entered into Moses and his wife’s lives and their world was changed “Forever”. He became the main character and everyone’s way of life was shifted to the sidelines. If Wyatt wanted it, it was going to happen. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Teresa McManus Johnson of the home, 3 sons, Spencer Jerel, Cody Johnson, Greenville, SC, and Sterling Johnson, Edgefield, SC, 2 daughters, Jessica (Roger) Edwards, North Augusta, SC, Ebony Johnson, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, a sister, Georgia Johnson, Johnston, SC, 2 brothers, Herman Johnson and Willie Johnson, both of Johnston, SC, his father in-law, George McManus, Johnston, SC, 3 brothers in law, Handy (Linda) McManus, North Augusta, SC, Richard McManus, Johnston, SC, Michael (Alexis), Aiken, SC, 3 sisters in-law, Fannie McManus, Elizabeth McManus and Tammy Johnson, all of Johnston, SC, 5 grandchildren, Paytan, Wyatt, Zachary, Charlotte and Jacob, special nieces, Sharonda Harling and MaKayla McManus, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special Co-Workers, Robert Howard, Willie Cunningham, Elvis Bussey, Ulysses Chinn and Leroy Elam.
