Mr. Roger "Pop" Richardson

Johnston, SC- Funeral Services for Mr. Roger “Pop” Richardson will be 1:00 PM ,Thursday at the Rosa Spring Baptist Church . The pastor is Rev. Winston Oliphant and the Officiant for the services will be Rev. T J Conley. Interment will follow in the Coleman Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be 11-6PM Wednesday at the Amos & Sons Funeral Home.

Roger also known as “Pop” Richardson was born February 2, 1967, in Aiken County, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Scott Richardson, Sr. and Mrs. Bertha Richardson. He was the youngest of nine children.

Pop received his education from the Edgefield County Public schools. Pop was known for his bright spirit that lit up the streets of Johnston and his love for people and of little Debbie cakes. He knew no strangers and found joy in everyone he met. He spent his time here on earth, helping others any way he could, singing, bringing joy, and smiles to everyone’s heart he touched.

In addition to his beloved parents, he was also preceded in death by his eldest brother Scott Richardson, Jr.

Pop loved his family and friends. Those left behind to cherish his memories include: Three sisters; Louise

(Willie)Williams, Lucille Richardson, Brenda (Mack) Pressley,

III. Four brothers; Bobby Richardson, Johnny (the late Patricia) Richardson, Jerry Richardson and Horace (the late Sally) Richardson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and sorrowing friends.

Roger was called to rest on the morning of November 6, 2025, at the family home.
