Valerie Hammond Melford was born May 23,1956 in Johnston SC to the late John Henry Hammond and Georgia Bell Davis Hammond. She transitioned to her eternal home on May 18, 2025. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory: Daughters, Cheryl (Paul) O'Neil of Delaware, Josephine Swindler of Georgetown, SC; Sons, Kevin Melford, Ocala, Florida, Jeffery (Andrea) Melford, Ocala, Florida; Sisters Floria Watkins, and Fannie (Jessie) Wertz, both of Johnston SC, Lether (Emmanuel) James, Aiken, SC; one Aunt, Fannie Moore;  7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
